Auction Info

As is the case every year, FallCon will be running a Game Auction from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday.

Sellers must register their games using their MyFallCon account - the same one you use to register for the con.

CURRENT AUCTION ITEMS

The current auction list is now available.

AUCTION ITEM SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

  1. Sign in to your MyFallCon account, or sign up for an account.
  2. Once signed in, go to the Auction menu - you will be able to add, modify and delete up to 10 entries. Adding games is only possible if less than 300 games have been added to our database.
  3. At the convention, all items will need to be submitted to our Auction Coordinator (Steve Lloyd) before Saturday at 12:30pm.
  4. Upon submission of the games, the Auction Coordinator will pull up your online submissions and confirm the accuracy of the information. Labels will be printed from the verified info and given to the seller to affix to the appropriate items.
  5. If 300 games have not been submitted by Saturday at 12:30pm, the remaining auction slots will be opened up on a first come first served basis. Item submissions will be accepted until 1:30pm.
  6. Submitted items will be displayed on shelving by the staging area.

SELLING CONDITIONS

  1. Only the first 300 auction items submitted for auction will be accepted.
  2. Each registrant can submit up to 10 items via your MyFallCon account (until the maximum limit of 300 is reached).
  3. The following items WILL be accepted for auction:
    • Boardgames of all kinds (missing components must be listed)
  4. The following items will NOT be accepted for auction submissions (but are acceptable for the Sunday Flea Market):
    • Miniatures (bundled or unbundled)
    • Roleplaying games
    • Computer games
    • Magazines
    • Collectible Card Games (CCGs)
    • Gaming paraphernalia (cases, boxes, bags, sleeves, etc.)
  5. Each item must have an accurate game condition and reserve bid declared during the online submission process.  Minimum reserve bid is $1.00.
  6. As a seller, you will be levied a 15% charge based on the total selling price per item.
  7. If an item exceeds the reserve bid the item is sold.  If not, the item will be returned.
  8. Money from sold items and items not sold can be picked up after the auction.
  9. Any items in our hands at the end of the convention, becomes property of FallCon.

AUCTION PROCEDURE

  1. Item up for bid will be displayed and described by auctioneer. Auctioneer will start the bid at the reserve price.
  2. All interested parties raise their bidding card above their heads to indicate interest.
  3. Auctioneer raises bid in gradually decreasing amounts ($5 -> $2 -> $1). As the price escalates, disinterested parties lower their bidding cards. Auctioneer raises bid until there is a single party interested in the item.
  4. In the case of a "tie" for last bid (the last people in the bidding lower their flags at the same time), the auctioneer will say "First to $XX". First person the raise their bidding card will win the auction.
  5. Auction runners will immediately deliver the game to the winner of the auction. Please have correct change ready.
  6. Auction items generally alternate between boardgames and miniatures to give attendees a chance to complete their transactions and get back into the bidding for the next item!
